Connecticut is seeing the crime rate increase at an unprecedented rate and level. Juvenile crime in particular has been rampant the last couple of years. Far left democrats in Hartford have stripped away protections for police officers to do their jobs. Virtually every line of work has coverage from personal liability for involuntary errors, now, except for the police, that coupled with changes to the law that offer greater protections for criminals has set many communities in Connecticut on a fast pace to become the next Detroit or Chicago. Once criminals feel emboldened, crime will only increase in frequency and severity. We need to restore protections to the police and repeal any laws that give teenagers a free pass to commit crime, we need to couple that with much tougher minimum sentencing requirements for violent offenders. Deterrence is the best remedy to crime.
